Wooden Toy Marble Run: A step up from the Basic Set Marble Run comes this: The Twist and Rail set by Quadrilla, where the Basic set has 49 pieces, the Twist and Rail has 98 pieces and 50 marbles. The two sets can be seamlessly joined together to form an even bigger set and this can go on and on as far as gravity and the space in your home will allow! (the Basic and the Twist and Rail combined is what we have in our shop as a display).

We have a display marble run in our shop and it is one of several toys children make a beeline for the moment they walk in through the door.

Our marble run is mounted at table height on a specially built base and the kids all stand round it on little chairs shovelling marbles in! They can stand there for ages and their parents can shop in peace. They are marvellous games and completely addictive. Much better than video games and the whole family can get involved.

The run we have in the shop is only half the fun though as a huge part of the enjoyment comes from actually constructing the marble run in the first place as there are never ending configurations, especially when your run gets bigger. As you get the bug you can keep adding and adding and adding to your run by buying further sets. The possibilities are endless and so is the fun both you and your children can have.

From an educational point of view the benefits are obvious, because of the marbles (each set comes with 50) these runs are only suitable for children over the age of three and you will be surprised just how quickly and expertly children learn to build the runs and before long they will be the experts!

Materials: the runners are made from Birch ply-wood and the blocks are made from rubberwood. All the items are tested to EN 71 (European Standard Toy Regulations) and ASTM-standard (American Society for Testing and Materials). The connection rings on the rails are plastic and are also used for some parts in the Twist.
