Wooden Toy: This shape sorting lorry by Janod is another toy which absolutely flew off our shelves at the Earls Court Baby Show. A very simple idea, like all the best toys, this is a simple lorry with four shaped columns sticking up from its trailer. On each column you can only place a certain shape and shade of colour.

So, this is not only a great deal of fun, but really educational too, teaching toddlers both shape and subtle colour recognition. Which will they realise first? That a certain shape fits? Or the right shade of colour!
